About our Website
- First and foremost, the tartan we are using on our home page along with several others is the MacKay Clan Tartan after the founder of the HDA, Grace Edgar Mackay.
- The pictures that are being used on this website are the property of the HDA of Ontario and may not be used or copied without written permission from the HDA of Ontario.
- This site has been re-created in a relatively short period of time and is still under construction. Our endevour is to keep updating it and adding items in support of the dance community. If there is something you would like to see (or a mistake we may have made), please feel free to email your comments to the following address: webmaster@hdaontario.com.
- TIP -- If you have come to our site to look at updates such as competition results, you may need to hit the "refresh" or "reload" button on your browser. If you have viewed the page before it may be loaded in the cache on your computer and not show any updates we have made.
- The site itself is best viewed using Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 and above but will work with most available browsers.
- We are now using a few pictures that randomly change on some pages. I have not been able to test on all browsers available but if you are using AOL and the "Ask Dancer" page does not display three random pictures this may help.
"I am using the AOL browser, and everything else on page would appear but the picture. Instead there was a message -Loading image-, and the image never appeared, just a gray rectangle". In this case, you have to turn off graphics compression in the AOL internet browser preferences as follows:
On the AOL Toolbar, click Members, Click Preferences, Click WWW Icon (Picture of world globe), and you will see a dialog box. Click the "Web Graphics" tab, and a page appears with the question "Do you want Web Graphics to be compressed. This will display pages faster". Under the question is a box that you "check" if you want compression, otherwise leave it blank. If it is checked, clear it.
